Aiden’s first time fishing!

If you’ve seen my facebook page in the past few weeks, you know that I’ve been doing a bit of fishing. I’ve definitely rediscovered how much fun it can be! The more I’ve been fishing, the more I’ve been thinking about taking Aiden out. He’s definitely young but today I decided to go for it =). He absolutely loved it! He still doesn’t understand that the hooks are sharp and dangerous, but thankfully there were no injuries today. For most of the day, I would hook a fish and then have Aiden help reel it in, but at the pond, Aiden actually caught two completely on his own! Having a fish on the line freaked him out a little though =). One of them is in the video, the other isn’t because Aiden caught the fish without us watching! Tyler and I were casting while Aiden walked off a bit. All of a sudden he shouted, “Daddy, that’s a big fish!” I turned around just as he was throwing the rod into the water! Fortunately I was able to grab it and sure enough, he had a 12″ smallmouth! It was bigger than any of the fish I caught!

I read Aiden one of his books the other night and accidentally misread a line. I was quickly surprised to hear Aiden correct me!? It turns out, over the past weeks, he memorized his tow truck book from cover to cover! As I went through the book, he read every line almost word for word. I tried so hard to hold in my laughing =). Its scary thinking about how much he takes in without us knowing!? Anyway, I knew I had to get it on video so here it is =)…

Moving to Virginia!

Well, its official! God’s opened the door for us to move down to Staunton, VA. A few weeks ago, I was offered the position of Pastor of Student Ministry at Staunton Alliance Church. We’ll be shipping out on June 5th and my first day at the church will be June 6th! Faith and Aiden and I are very excited but moving is always bittersweet. Its going to be hard to leave so many great friends here in Delaware. It’s also going to be a bit of an adjustment moving out of this huge parsonage!? Needless to say, we’re going to be moving into a smaller place. The fact that we’ll be living right in the middle of the Shenandoah valley helps make up for it though! The picture above is of the cute townhouse we’ve got rented. We’re planning to rent a year and hopefully start saving some for a downpayment on a house. The view from the deck off the kitchen is nice =). Come visit us once we’re down.

Aiden really lucked out! His first time being in the snow just so happened to be the biggest snowfall in 100 years! He seemed pretty indifferent to it but it was still fun to take him out in it! I don’t think he knew what to make of it!

Faith and I are starting to get a little worried about how much Aiden likes to watch TV. We’re hoping its just because its big and the movement and light attracts his attention but sometimes it really does seem like he’s watching the show! Either way, Aiden has made it clear that he’s an Eagles fan and that he wants to watch the games! We enjoyed family time today watching the Eagles stomp the Giants! Go Eagles! Or as they say in Philly…Go igles!

Well, I got a little bored the other day while Faith was at work and unfortunately Aiden paid the price =). I own a mullet wig and decided to try it out on Aiden. He actually didn’t seem to mind…he just didn’t know how to react…enjoy the pictures =)…

More Studio Attempts

Well, we had some friends over on Sunday afternoon. We decided it would be fun to try and get some portrait shots in the “studio” upstairs but it didn’t turn out as easy as we thought. Nate and Sean weren’t very cooperative with sitting still in front of the camera =). Instead we got out a huge ball and let them play around in the room and did our best to snap off some good shots. We waited forever until we were able to get a good picture with the two of them together.

One thing I realized was that if I could take as many pictures as I did of other peoples’ kids, how many pictures am I going to be taking of my own!? I think I’m going to need more hard drive space. Enjoy the pictures and know that they’re a foreshadowing of what’s to come =).
