Faith is Pregnant!

We’ve kept it quiet long enough…Faith is pregnant!  As of today, I believe Faith is 11weeks 5days.  So the 1st Trimester is just about over!  The sweet part is that the baby is due on June 21st…Father’s Day!  Unfortunately, Faith has had a really rough time with her morning sickness.  For 3 or 4 weeks straight, she pretty much threw up all day long.  A few weeks back we finally had to take her to the hospital where they diagnosed her with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.  Basically, its a severe form of morning sickness that affects .3-2% of pregnant women.  So I guess you could say Faith has been one of the “privileged” ones!?

At this point, we’ve received 3 ultrasounds.  Unfortunately we had one really early because Faith had some bleeding.  If you look in the first ultrasound below (5-6 weeks) you’ll see some dark areas to the upper right of the baby.  Those are actually small areas of blood.  They call it a subchorionic hematoma which means that as the uterus stretched, some blood vessels broke between the uterine wall and the placenta.  If you look at the next ultrasound (10 weeks?) you can see that that area has already started to be reabsorbed!  We’re praying that by week 20 all the blood will be reabsorbed.  Please pray for Faith!  She’s finally been put on medication (60 pills=$1300…we only had to pay $60, thank the Lord for insurance) so she’s been able to keep her food down but she’s still pretty miserable.  We’re having a level 2 ultrasound on the 12th so we’re hoping to get another good report then.  We’ll keep updating as we get more news!
